Apple's iPhone 3G

A few posts ago, I said I wanted Apple's iTouch.  Mainly because I didn't think MrD would let me cancel out of our family plan and pay the early termination fee to get the iPhone.  WELL, I must be some negotiator because last Friday I made my final pitch over the phone to MrD and he agreed!  No fight, no rattling off of our bills, no guilt!

We had a wedding to attend that evening, so I had to quickly put the kids down for nap and as soon as they entered dream-land I was off to my own dream world -- the Apple store!

I get to the store and right before I enter I see the big sign, "No more 3G's available today".  My heart sank.  I race in:
Me: Excuse me, I called and someone told me you had the phones in stock?!!
Apple Lady: We did.  We just sold out an hour ago.
Me: Oh.  When will you get them in?
Apple Lady: We open at 8am every morning so you can try back tomorrow or Monday, but there's usually a line before we open so you should try to line up by 7:30.  Plus we never know what time the shipments are, so no guarantees.
I was devastated.  Doesn't she know my morning mommy routine won't release me until about 10 o'clock and then I'd still wind up dragging 2 squirmy kids with me to the store?!?!

I call MrD and told him my sad news.  He consoled and said we'll try another store over the weekend (MrD is just as obsessive as I am when it comes to things we want, so he understood the disappointment).  Then the smart and empathetic  hubby that I have called right back and reminded me of the OTHER Apple store nearby.  I 411'd it and lo and behold the phones were in stock!  I had 2 hours before wedding-prep time, I could make it, it was only 15 minutes away!  I got there,  lined up, signed-in for the 3G and an hour later I walked out a super excited owner of my very own iPhone 3G!  I hadn't felt this elated since I was 8 years old and got the coveted call from Toys R Us that it was my turn to come and pick out a Cabbage Patch Kid Doll (her name was Arabella Tansy, I still remember)!  Anyway, here it is, my new toy:
it's the coolest phone I've ever owned and I'm so addicted to it.  It's like walking around with a mini computer in your pocket and I'm lovin' it!

I want this...

and since it's not practical for me to switch over my cell phone carrier to get the iPhone, this is the next best thing - the iTouch.  I especially want it for the WiFi feature and to upload all my pictures on to it.  I am such a gadget geek and love stuff like this!  I'm going to go call MrD right now and let him know that this is next on my "Wish List".

I can't believe I'm saying this

but shopping for clothes just isn't fun anymore.  Diggs christening is this Sunday so I have the formidable task of looking for a new dress.
Diggs was born in April and for that pregnancy I gained 50 lbs.  It's been 3 months and I still have 20 more pounds to go.  So needless to say, my pre-baby clothes are still not fitting me the way they should.
Last Saturday, I, along with MrD, the 2 babies, and my sister-in-law, head to the mall in search of a dress for my what I like to call "in transition" body.  I tried on dress after dress only to get more discouraged.
Finally, when my spirit was almost completely knocked down - we saw it.  A beautiful white cotton strapless dress with gold trim as detailing.
As luck would have it though, no size for me.  The very helpful salesperson called other stores - but nothing.

Yes, I officially feel like...

a mother of 2!  My double stroller finally arrived yesterday!

MrD and I hemmed and hawed about whether or not to get one because Mig is already 3 years old and usually likes to walk on his own anyway.  But, there have already been a few times when our Mig has decided he didn't want to walk OR we were out at theme parks where it would be impossible for him to walk the whole day.

We would get stuck pushing 2 strollers and it would just be a big pain in the *@$$*, especially when Diggs would want to get out and we'd have to sling him and push his carriage!  We couldn't decide if we wanted to go with the double stroller with all the bells and whistles, the designer that matched our infant carrier, etc.

Then one day, on our many excursions to the mall, I saw a mom pushing her two kids (who looked about the same age as ours) and with the same carrier as us, in a Sit and Stand.  We have the single Sit and Stand and love it (and the price).  So, I approached her and asked her about her stroller.  She enthusiastically told me how much she loved it, showed us the different ways her bigger child can ride, and showed us how her infant seat gets attached.  Sold!

MrD did his research for the best deal on NOT getting us to pay for shipping and ordered it.  Here it is, all for a whopping $149.00 - not bad!

Good Vibrations = Explosion!

Our morning routine lately has been: right after Diggs first feeding, me, my mom, Mig, and Diggs go to the mall (before the stores open to avoid spending temptation) and walk for at least 40 minutes.

That day, Mig was at summer camp so it was just the 3 of us.  By 11am I started to get weak and hungry and I desperately needed a snack.  We go to Au Bon Pain and just as I take Diggs out of his car seat to hold him, I see the explosion up his back of "you-know-what".  The nearest bathroom with a changing table was all the way on the other side of the mall, so that was not an option.  The bathroom at Au Bon Pain was much to be desired, plus had no table.

My mind is racing b/c all I want to do is eat!  But knew I just had to change his dirty mess first!

Luckily, my sister-in-law Aim had given me the most amazing diaper changing pad ever.  The Patemm is a circular pad that has all these handy pockets all around.  No more rolling off the little rectangular shaped diaper pad for us!

So there lay naked Diggs, nice and safe from the yucky seat, smiling as I changed him and made him as good as new and no one around us were the wiser as to what was going on.

The mess was gone, Diggs was freshly changed in a new outfit, and mommy could finally eat her snack.

(Of course as soon as I got home, the germa-phobe mommy that I am had to clorox my precious Patemm thoroughly b/c God forbid the changing pad actually get soiled)!

to top it all off, this awesome product is designed by a fellow filipina!  check out the cute prints and colors at www.patemm.com
